Norbert Donald Zentz, 77, of Janesville died at Mercy Hospital & Trauma Center on Thursday, September 26, 2013. He was born in Janesville on May 7, 1936, the son of Norbert and Tillie Zentz. He attended Janesville schools and joined the U. S. Air Force on May 25,1954 serving until November 22, 1957. He married Doris Elaine Franke on December 29, 1956. She preceded him in death on September 1, 2009. Don was employed as a truck driver for many years and prior to retiring worked for Indian Head Trucking. After retiring, he worked for a number of years as a custodian at First Lutheran Church where he was a longtime active member.
Surviving are 2 sons, Dean (Denise) of Fort Atkinson, Dale of Boston, MA, his son-in-law, Brian (Becky) Aubrey of Janesville, 5 grandchildren, Danielle, Kristen, Tanner and Josie Aubrey, Daniel Burdick and brother-in-law and sister-in-law Dennis and Barbara Franke of Janesville. Don in addition to his wife and parents, was preceded in death by his daughter, Donna Aubrey, 2 brothers, Roger and Robert Zentz and a sister, Marian Rickey.
Funeral services will be at 11 a.m. Wednesday, October 2, 2013 at First Lutheran Church with Rev. James Melvin officiating. Visitation will be from 10 to 11 a.m. Wednesday at the Church. Burial will be in Milton Lawns Memorial Park with military rites by Kienow-Hilt V.F.W. Post # 1621. Henke-Clarson Funeral Home is assisting the family.
